Between 16th and18th May 2006, Blueprint OPS was trialed in a National Counter Terrorism Committee sponsored exercise, titled “Neptune’s Treasure”. The exercise was hosted by the New South Wales Police.
Neptune’s Treasure was a maritime focused operation spanning a large portion of Sydney Harbour. It involved the full spectrum of counter terrorism agencies and focused on “hijacked ferries”. In terms of coordination and geography, the exercise presented a challenging environment, particularly for a police operation, with key personnel spread over a large distance.
Blueprint OPS performed well and managed the entire tactical response, including:
- Dynamic Planning and Orders development
- Local and Remote planning and orders briefs
- Management of Tactical Intelligence with dynamic templates
- Image, document and file management
- Incident and Activity Logs
- Task management and accountability
- Geographic Information system
- Knowledge Base Management
- Live Video functionality
- GPS tracking of the Stronghold and tactical operators
Blueprint OPS supported the Police Tactical Group, and provided capabilities that have never before been achieved in Australia. |
